Tent sidewalls are made of the same fabric as the tent tops. Since the sidewalls typically hang down from the tent top, the fabric is stressed. All points need to be anchored securely to prevent flapping. Most damage occurs from winds whipping the fabric against the frame or against the ground. To prevent damage to the sidewalls: Tighten all anchor points so the sidewalls don’t flap around. Secure the bottom of the sidewall with poles, ropes or other tiedowns. If heavy winds are forecast for the area, take down the sidewalls. Consider taking down the entire tent. Clear sidewalls need to be handled with extreme care. Clear will tear very easily. Do not pull clear too tight – Unlike vinyl counterpart, clear fabrics do stretch. Do not allow clear tent fabric to freeze or with high heat condition. Transparencies will deteriorate over time, especially with extreme temperatures. Clear will shrink in cold environment and expand in hot temperatures.
